Buttons 

Buttons are available features to add in the 'Body' field on the 'Basic Page' editing window. Buttons are an optional way to stylize links that are not provided within written content.

Please Note: You must be logged in to the State of Vermont website that you are editing to follow the instructions below. 


Add a Button to Basic Page Content 

  1. Content

    Select 'Content' on the top navigation.

  2. Title

    Enter the page 'Title' in the search field to locate the page you would like to edit.

  3. Edit

    Once the page you would like to edit appears in the list, select 'Edit' on the right side of the listing.

  4. Body

    In the 'Body' field, enter the text that you would like to turn into a button.

  5. Select

    Select the text you entered.

  6. Link

    Select the 'Link' tool.

  7. Link Type

    Determine the 'Link Type'. There are four different types of Hyperlinks: URL, Link to anchor in the text, E-mail, and phone.

  8. Link Details

    Depending upon the link type selected, enter the destination URL, anchor name, e-mail address, or phone number.

  9. Ok

    Select 'Ok'.

  10. Styles

    With the link text still selected, in the 'Styles' dropdown, select the 'Button' style.

  11. Save

    Select 'Save'.

  12. View

    Confirm that the button appears and functions as intended.


Create a Button Anchor Link 

  1. Content

    Select 'Content' on the top navigation.

  2. Title

    Enter the page 'Title' in the search field to locate the page you would like to edit.

  3. Edit

    Once the page you would like to edit appears in the list, select 'Edit' on the right side of the listing.

  4. Body

    In the 'Body' field, enter the text that you would like to turn into a button.

  5. Select Button Text

    Select the button text you entered.

  6. Styles

    In the 'Styles' dropdown, select the 'Button' style.

  7. Body

    In the 'Body' field, select or enter the text that you would like the button to link to when clicked.

  8. Anchor

    Select the 'Achor' tool.

  9. Anchor Name

    Enter a unique 'Achor Name'.

  10. Ok

    Select 'Ok'.

  11. Select Button Text

    Re-select the button text.

  12. Link

    Select the 'Link' tool.

  13. Link Type

    Set the 'Link Type' to 'Link to anchor in the text'.

  14. By Anchor Name

    Select the 'Achor Name' that you previously created.

  15. Ok

    Select 'Ok'.

  16. Save

    Select 'Save' on the page that you added the link.

  17. View

    View the page to confirm that the 'Link to an anchor in the text' appears and functions as intended.


Example Buttons 

Below are examples of two Buttons: a link to a Basic Page and an Anchor Link to content on the current page.
